When things start getting comfortable…and then you stop and think for a minute.

1. While watching a movie you are confused as the cars are driving on the right side of the road, and people are using their left hand.
2. You take a bucket bath and feel clean then you look at your feet and realize you have had a permanent stain on the bottom of your feet.
3. You are finally able to converse enough to find a few foods that you miss from home. Then you ask where you can get a steak and are told to show up at the neighbors at 3am for the cattle slaughter. Hey can’t complain about a fresh steak.
4. You feel cool in your room due to the non stop rotating floor fan. AC seems like an invention of the future now.
5. You are full from a family meal but then have an all out craving for apples and peanut butter.
6. The mosquito eating lizards that always run the walls are hardly entertaining anymore.
7. You have no chance of finding a real pizza, hamburger, or even hot dog.
8. What is alcohol? Could you spell that so I can look it up in my dictionary?
9. Where would I go if I could drive a car/motorcycle right now?
10. How does that one person seem to always find me?
11. Is it possible to pass a message along to a current volunteer on the other side of the island by word of mouth. “Challenge for next month”
12. Does anyone realize that a female is a Mrs./Miss instead of Mr.?
13. Rice to Indonesia = Duck tape to America
14. You realize the most famous American song here is till “Two Princess” by the Spin Doctors
